Confirming the Right Student and What Comes Next
Before you submit a link, the platform shows you the student's name and school — this lesson covers why checking that carefully matters, and what happens after you submit.

Before you hit submit, take a moment to confirm the student's name and school shown on screen actually match who you intend to link. This is the one step that prevents linking to the wrong record, so it's worth double-checking every time. Once you submit, most schools require a one-time verification before the link becomes active — that's a safeguard, not a glitch — so don't be surprised if you see a status of Pending approval for a little while. Once your school approves it, the link goes live and you'll have full visibility into that student's progress.
Key points
- Linking gives you access to that student's progress, results and consent records — only link accounts for students you're the parent or legal guardian of.
- A status of "Pending approval" means your school hasn't confirmed the link yet — this is normal, not an error.
- If the student or school shown doesn't match who you expected, do not confirm — contact your school immediately.
