Setting Up a Class

A class connects a roster of students to an assigned curriculum pathway. This article walks through creating one from the Teacher workspace, adding students, and confirming the class is ready to deliver.

Prerequisites and permissions

  • A Teacher account, provisioned by your school administrator.
  • Your school must already exist in the platform registry — see your School Administrator if it does not.
  • At least one published curriculum pathway assigned to your school.

Steps

  1. Sign in to your teacher workspace and open Classes.
  2. Select New Class and give it a name your students will recognize (e.g. "Grade 6 — Robotics, Section B").
  3. Choose the curriculum pathway to assign — only pathways your school has been granted access to appear here.
  4. Add students to the roster, either by selecting existing accounts from your school's People Directory or importing a list provided by your School Administrator.
  5. Review the readiness summary — it flags any student without a completed account activation.
  6. Publish the class. Students see it appear on their dashboard the next time they sign in.
ℹ️
Students only see classes their account has been added to. If a student reports a missing class, check the roster here before escalating.

Verification step

Open the class from your Classes list and confirm the student count matches your roster, and the assigned curriculum pathway shows as "Active."

Troubleshooting

  • A student can't see the class: confirm their account status is Active (not Pending) in the roster, and that they've signed in with the correct account.
  • Curriculum pathway missing from the list: your school may not have been granted access yet — contact your School Administrator.
  • Roster import failed: check that every row includes a valid school-issued student ID.
